OKLAHOMA CITY – House Democratic Caucus Assistant Leader Melissa Provenzano, D-Tulsa, released the following statement after the Oklahoma State Superintendent of Public Instruction Lindel Fields announced OSDE has no plans to distribute Bibles or a Biblical character education curriculum in classrooms.
“This is the right move,” Provenzano said. “Religious guidance is deeply personal to every family. It belongs in the rightful hands of parents and guardians, not our public schools.”
