Biographical Information
PERSONAL:

Representative Danny Williams proudly serves the people of House District 28, representing Seminole County and portions of northern Pottawatomie County in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. A longtime resident of Seminole, Williams is known for his dedication to children, families, foster care reform, healthcare access and strengthening rural Oklahoma communities.

Born in Kansas, Williams is the son of a Nazarene minister, and his upbringing instilled in him a deep appreciation for faith, service and community. Those values continue to guide both his personal life and his work in public service.

Williams first served in the Oklahoma House from 1988 to 1994 before returning to the Legislature in 2020. Over the course of his legislative career, he has had the privilege of serving under five different Speakers of the House, giving him insight into a wide range of leadership styles and legislative approaches. Observing the nuances of those leaders has helped shape his thoughtful and collaborative approach to policymaking.

Williams currently serves as Chair of the House Children, Youth and Family Services Committee, where he focuses on policies that support foster children, strengthen families, and improve outcomes for vulnerable Oklahomans. His legislative priorities often center on improving Oklahoma’s child welfare and healthcare systems, helping ensure that children in difficult circumstances receive stability, care, and opportunity.

Williams also serves as Chair of the Oklahoma Education Commission, where he works to bring together agencies across the state that serve students and families. The commission focuses on improving collaboration among education leaders and state agencies. A major initiative of this effort is the annual Oklahoma Education AI Symposium, which explores how emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence can support learning while strengthening foundational educational skills like phonics and early literacy.

Outside the Capitol, Williams is deeply committed to outreach and service. He helped establish and serves as board chairman of a residential recovery ministry that helps men overcome addiction and rebuild their lives through accountability, faith and community support.

Williams also supports and helps fund an orphan ministry in Camargo, Mexico, which he visits annually. The mission provides care and stability for children in difficult circumstances, and his visits allow him to personally encourage those serving there.

Faith remains central to Williams’ life and leadership. At the Capitol, he encourages a weekly Monday evening time of worship and prayer, offering legislators, staff, and visitors an opportunity to pause, reflect, and be refreshed by God’s word. He believes prayer is essential for those entrusted with leadership and often encourages others to seek wisdom and humility in serving the people of Oklahoma.

In addition to his legislative work, Williams is a business owner and rural technology advocate. He owns a company dedicated to expanding high-speed internet access across rural Oklahoma, which is an effort he believes is essential for education, healthcare access and economic development.
When he is away from the Capitol, Williams enjoys restoring classic cars, especially vintage Corvettes, and spending time on the family homestead outside Seminole. There, he and his wife Joyce care for cattle and horses and enjoy the sweeping Oklahoma sunsets that stretch across their land. Their faithful dog Lilly is a constant companion on the ranch.

Williams often says his greatest joy is his family. He adores his wife Joyce, and he is especially proud of their proud of their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and cherish every opportunity to watch them grow and thrive.

Williams continues to bring the same values he learned growing up, faith, perseverance, service and commitment to others, to his work at the Oklahoma State Capitol, striving to build stronger systems and brighter futures for Oklahoma families and communities.
