Biographical Information
PERSONAL:

Hurchel E. “Trey” Caldwell III is a fourth-term State Representative from Southwest Oklahoma and Chair of the House Appropriations & Budget Committee, overseeing the state’s $12.7 billion budget. He previously served as Deputy Majority Leader and Chair of the Utilities Committee, where he built a reputation for brokering key energy and broadband agreements that strengthened Oklahoma’s electric grid and expanded rural access. Trey has championed rural economic development, public education funding, healthcare expansion and broadband growth.

A graduate of Cameron University, Trey also runs a farming, ranching and custom hay business in Comanche County. He has been widely recognized as Legislator of the Year by multiple organizations, including The Petroleum Alliance, Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association, and the Oklahoma Hospital Association. He and his wife, Kristi, live in rural Comanche County with their daughter, Hesston, and their mini-Aussie, Izzie.
