Biographical Information
PERSONAL:

Rep. Kevin Norwood represents House District 74.

Norwood is a lifelong Oklahoman with deep roots in Muskogee.

Norwood earned a bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministry from Southwestern Christian University in Bethany, a master’s degree in applied theology from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa and a doctorate in global leadership from George Fox University in Portland, Oregon.

He began his career in ministry in 1987 as a youth minister at Lakeside Assembly in Oklahoma City. After more than five years of service, he moved to Owasso in 1994 to continue his work in youth ministry. There, he founded a youth ministry, which grew from 12 students to more than 200 within its first few years.

Over more than 30 years in youth ministry, Norwood developed a peer-to-peer leadership model known as Family Groups. His work has helped prepare and mentor students for leadership roles, full-time ministry and overseas mission work. He remains committed to supporting and training youth pastors, drawing on decades of hands-on experience and mentorship. Through his nonprofit organization, Norwood continues to encourage and support students by delivering mental health–focused school assemblies on public school campuses.

He is married to his wife, an RN and clinical documentation specialist. They have two children. Their daughter is an equestrian and works for the City of Owasso and their son is a ninth grader who plays tennis and operates a small golf ball business.
