Tim Turner, a Republican, was elected in 2024 to serve House District 15 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. The district includes parts of Haskell, Le Flore, McIntosh, Muskogee and Pittsburg counties.
Turner is a lifelong resident of District 15, beginning his career as a 911 dispatcher in Checotah. He formerly served as Haskell County sheriff and in other law enforcement roles. He was a district attorney's taskforce officer with the United States Drug Enforcement Agency. He was appointed in 2022 by Gov. Stitt to serve on the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation Commission. He resigned the post upon taking state office.
Turner has numerous awards for service, including Oklahoma Sheriff of the Year and the Medal of Valor from the Oklahoma Sheriffs Association; State Agent of the Year and Agent of the Year, Region 3, from the Association of Oklahoma Narcotics Enforcers; and Investigator of the Year from the Oklahoma District Attorneys Council.
In his long experience in law enforcement, Turner has fought to strengthen national borders, fight back against illegal immigration and stop human trafficking. He also has worked with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control and other local public safety agencies, as well as officials from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration to bust multi-state illegal marijuana grow operations, which he said is a snapshot of years of foreign meddling in Oklahoma's medical marijuana market.
Turner and his wife, Brooke, live in Kinta with their son, Sawyer. They are members of Stigler First Assembly. Turner is president of the Haskell County Livestock Committee and coaches Little League football.
