Biographical Information
PERSONAL:

Rep. Derrick Hildebrant represents the people of Oklahoma’s 23rd District, which includes parts of Rogers, Tulsa, and Wagoner counties.

A retired Air Force veteran with 25 years of service in the Oklahoma Air National Guard, Hildebrant brings a wealth of leadership experience to the state Legislature. Enlisting in 1998, Hildebrant served under five presidents and four governors, participating in six military campaigns, including combat deployments for Operations Allied Force, Northern Watch, Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, and New Dawn. Rising to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant, he retired in 2024 as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 138th Mission Support Group, where he provided counsel on enlisted matters and oversaw nearly 500 Airmen. His distinguished service earned him numerous honors, including the Legion of Merit, four Meritorious Service Medals, and recognition as both the First Sergeant and Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) of the State of Oklahoma.

Concurrent with his military service, Hildebrant entered pastoral ministry in 2014 and has faithfully served churches in Rogers and Tulsa County for the past decade. As a missionary, he trains indigenous pastors and has served in India and Madagascar. Hildebrant also consults on Bible translation efforts in Africa and Asia.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion from Oklahoma State University, a Master of Divinity and Master of Theology from Southern Seminary and is pursuing a PhD in Christian Preaching. He also earned associate degrees in Fitness and Recreation, Human Resources, Occupational Safety (Community College of the Air Force), and General Education (Tulsa Community College). Additionally, Hildebrant is an FAA-certified private pilot and a USAT triathlete.

Hildebrant’s public service began in 2015 when he was elected as an at-large City Councilor in Catoosa, where he helped revitalize Historic Route 66 and oversaw a $23 million city budget. As a city council member, Hildebrant focused on advocating for tax policies that balance the need for economic growth with the sustainability of small towns and cities.

Hildebrant was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives for the 60th Legislature and was appointed as the vice chair of the Veteran and Military Affairs Committee. Additionally, he was appointed by the Speaker of the House to serve on the Appropriations and Budget Select Agencies Subcommittee, the General Government Committee and the Health and Human Services Oversight Committee.

His primary policy areas of focus are tax policy, developing infrastructure and strengthening families

Hildebrant is a dedicated husband, father, veteran, pastor, and community leader whose guiding principles are rooted in faith and a steadfast commitment to serving his community and state. He and his wife, Amber, live in Catoosa and have been married since 2002. They are the parents of seven children—Bailey, Samantha, Isabella, Olivia, Cameron, Noah, and Willa—and are active members of Journey Bible Church.
