Biographical Information
PERSONAL:

Rep. Mark Lawson has served House District 30 since 2016.

Mark currently serves as Majority Leader, where he advances the conservative policies of the House Republican Caucus, works to grow the state's economy, and strives to improve the quality of life for all Oklahomans.

While at the House, he has worked extensively on policies related to the state's tourism industry. Mark authored legislation establishing the Oklahoma Route 66 Commission to maximize the long-term economic potential of the famed highway ahead of its centennial in 2026.

Mark has also been a strong advocate for children and families, championing legislation to strengthen family stability and reduce childhood trauma. He firmly believes the key to Oklahoma’s prosperity begins with our families at home. As chair of the House Appropriations & Budget Subcommittee for Human Services, Mark oversaw approximately 10% of the state’s annual budget.

Before being elected, Mark dedicated his career to advocating for children and families. He worked with the Youth Services of Tulsa’s Safe Place program and the Children’s Hospital at Saint Francis, gaining firsthand insight into the struggles faced by Oklahoma families. Mark also served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for abused and neglected children in Creek County and chaired the board of Youth Services of Creek County.

Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Education from Oklahoma State University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma. He and his wife, Pam, live in Sapulpa with their two children, Asher and Ivy Ruth.
